I Love New York :)

New York, New York
Yes, the best city in the world.
Nothing compares to it. AKA as the "concrete jungle", New York is the whole world in one location.
You can find people from every nationality/ethnicity here, all living peacefully in one city.
It is the city of hope as it brings inspiration and motivation to millions daily.
It is a little piece of heaven here on earth.
Living in NYC you are surrendered by endless opportunities and possibilities.
You can truly become anything you dream of being in this city where dreams become realities. Yes, I love New York and you should too!!!
If you don't live here, then you must come visit to experience the sensation up close and personal :)

Spring is here

It is now time to welcome Spring back into our closets! Get out the pastels, the whites, and the colorful! What is in this season is soft pinks with antique finishes. White always looks great on a bronze skin, so go get Sunkist...but not too much since it can be dangerous for your health.
  • Short frilly skirts are back in!!!
  • Tube tops and long lean tanks, in solid colors
  • Accessorize with sea accessories
  • Wear light, eye popping makeup
  • Find those sandals and start wearing them again
  • Drink in style! Have a glass of rose wine :)

Toga Dress

Attending a Toga party any time soon and don't know what to wear?
The answer is easy!
  1. Find a linen sheet
  2. Cut it in 4 rectangular pieces: 2 small for the chest and 2 big for the bodice and skirt
  3. Tie the two smaller pieces around your neck like a halter
  4. Wrap another piece of fabric around your body starting right under the chest.
  5. Secure the halter and the piece around your body with decorative golden rope
  6. Lastly, wrap the other bigger piece of fabric around your hips and Voila!

So now you can party like a Greek in style!

How to Look Expensive

Looking and feeling luxurious doesn't necessarily mean you have to spend a fortune on clothing and accessories. It can actually be quite cheap to look more expensive. In my life I have gotten many compliments on how "expensive" I look and trust me, I do not buy expensive products, I just know how to shop lux for less. Here are a few tips of advice on what to wear and what not to wear in order to look lux:
What NOT to wear:
  • Big fake metal earrings (please, it is obvious you spent $5 on them, you are better off not wearing any earrings at all)
  • Plastic jewelry - You are not a 6 year old kid, so grow up and get some grown-up jewelry
  • Too much jewelry, especially if it is NOT real can make you look like you are trying a bit too hard, and WILL indeed make you look very cheap.
  • Colorful Boots- We all know you bought them at the $10 store down the street...
  • Too many colors at once- You are a human, not a rainbow
  • Long, goofy plastic nails
  • Rainbow makeup
  • Colorful tights look horrible on ANYONE! especially the ones with prints on them, so avoid them at all times!

How to Look Lux for LESS:

  • Wear minimal, fine jewelry
  • Wood accessories can also look expensive compared to fake metals and plastics + they are green products :)
  • you can spend more money on a statement jewelry piece that IS actually expensive instead of buying loads of cheap crap: invest in a nice, gold cocktail ring to show off your pretty fingers, but please don't get a fake one, they look like crap...
  • Shop at discount: This does not mean go buy everything that is on sale from the cheaper stores but rather go to EXPENSIVE stores and shop their sales section...Trust me, you will find stuff there for the price of discount stores but for amazing quality
  • When shopping, try to pick simple styles, they are always in style
  • Pick solid colors as opposed to prints when shopping at cheaper stores since prints often lose their colors after washing.
  • Have a simple French manicure or plain light colored shorter nails to look sophisticated
  • When buying shoes, select neutral colors, such as brown, tan, ivory and black...they will never go out of style and will match everything you have...Don't buy colorful shoes unless you have a lot of $, since most of the cheaper ones looks ridiculously trashy.
  • Wear neutral makeup: foundation, light blush, pale lips and cat eye to look sexy and sophisticated with class....

Sweaterdresses

Now that winter is almost gone, it is time to get out the dresses. Although too cold to start showing legs, sweater dresses are easy to play up. When cold, tights and boots with a matching belt give it a sophisticated, classy, yet sexy look.

How to find the perfect sweater dress for your body:
  • Choose basic colors, do not go for prints, since prints can be tricky in knit fabrics.
  • Basic colors such as ivory and black are always in style
  • if the dress is loose fitting, then match it up with a tight fitting belt at the waist line to create curves.
  • When choosing a tighter fitting dress, try to find bulkier knit styles for a more winter feel
If you are a brunette:
  • Pick warm colors such as oranges and reds
  • Also pick neutrals (Brown, Tan, Ivory)
  • Winter White(Ivory)
  • Accessorize with gold tone jewelry
  • Wooden jewelry give the dresses a very bohemian feel

If you are Blondie:

  • Cool colors emphasize your total look
  • Blues, purples and pinks are excellent picks
  • Accessorize with silver jewelry and metal accessories

Sweater dresses are the easiest style to adopt this season since they are chic and flirty and at the same time keep you warm and feeling feminine. Dresses are a much better pick than any jeans and sweater and you will definatley receive more compliments the more you wear them. Rememer though: with sweaterdresses, it can be easy to over do the look by over-accessorizing and wearing heels that demand too much attention. So keep it simple, with a couple accessories such as scarfs, tights, belt and matching boots...
