Halloween Costumes

Halloween...Who said Halloween is just for kids? During the month of October the stores start flooding with too many adult costumes to choose from! Halloween is the time for girls to be whatever they want to be without being criticized... Costumes such as Playboy Bunny, Go-Go dancers, Sexy Pirate, Sexy Nurse, and sexy anything you can think of, don't cover much of the body. Girls can be anything from Gangsters, inmates to Angels and Doctors...Halloween can be the biggest party of the year for some. So, this Halloween, go have fun being whoever or whatever you want to be! :)

How to Keep Her Coming Back For More...

Women...
We are truly quite a different species...
We can be sweet and innocent but also spite full and overly dramatic...
Guys, since us women are very hard to understand at times, here is some helpful advice in keeping your girl happy:
  • Comfort her through rough times emotionally and physically, a girl likes to feel protected by her man...
  • Learn to touch and caress her body sensually, but don't treat her like your property or just like a piece of meat
  • Surprise her with a candle lit dinner and wine...
  • Tell her a funny joke/fact...Comedy always makes everyone cheer up
  • Answer her phone call or text her back!!! Do NOT wait 3 days to reply to her message
  • When she makes plans, and you tell her you're up for it, don't break them...It will devastate her
  • If you're away from her call her and tell her you miss her, or call to say goodnight/good morning
  • Surprise her with small gifts...even if you bought it at the Dollar Store!!! (although Tiffany's would be much better ;)
  • Ask her opinion...it shows her you care about what she thinks, and makes her feel good you need her help

TRUST: Trust is the number one problem in every relationship. If you have no trust in her, and don't give her any privacy and time for her personal enjoyment, how can you expect her to trust you? Do not give her reasons not to trust you. Once the trust is broken, it may never heal...Trust has to work both ways...

COMPLIMENTS: You are with your girl because there are things you like about her... So tell her what you like!!! Tell her you like the way she giggles, how her hair smells, or how soft her lips are, or maybe that you loved the dinner she cooked for you. (Silly stuff like that gives us butterflies in our bellies) Girls don't need constant compliments about how beautiful they are, but we do love small (what might seem like useless to others) compliments...It shows that you care about us and that you really like us for who we are, and not just our external appearance.

GIFTS: Don't forget!!! There are 4 extremely important gift occasions in a relationship...Once you forget about one of them you have earned the stress that she will cause you. If you are in a financial crisis, don't think that all girls expect diamonds... We care more about how much thought you put in the gift. Victoria's Secret gift card? Yes, very nice but not too much though put in it. On the other side a fresh bouquet of her favorite flowers sent to her door on that special day...Very thoughtful. Or a pair of stud earrings in her favorite color. Anything really, is better than nothing. And if you truly don't have $1 to spare, then go pick some flowers and write her a love letter...she will be very satisfied and understanding, but if you're a big spender and spend $10 on her gift then it makes her feel as if she is worthless to you...

  1. BIRTHDAY- do NOT forget to buy her a present on her birthday, she will feel neglected and unappreciated, and will possibly NEVER forgive you...seriously...not getting her a birthday gift is the equivalent of slapping her on the face with an over sized steel glove...
  2. ANNIVERSARY- the anniversary is probably one of the most memorable days for her since that's when it all started, so not buying a gift would simply signify that you don't care about the relationship what-so-ever
  3. CHRISTMAS- Come on now! Need I say more? It's Christmas!!! It's the TIME to give! Literally!!!
  4. VALENTINE'S DAY- yes, it is a stupid made up day for marketers and companies to boost sales, but at least it serves a good purpose... tell her you love her...

So now that you know, don't question why she's acting the way she is after you had forgot about her special day... If you can't take the time out of your busy life to show her you care on those special days, than why are you with her? It's better if you two break up so you can both find someone who does care!!!

Girls, don't be afraid to tell your guy what is on your mind. Sometimes guys can really be just clueless to why we are upset. Don't expect guys to know why you are mad at them. Some guys are just simple minded and don't stop to think that what they said could possibly upset you. If you want them to know, be clear about it, don't beat around the bush. Sugar coating the situation will only make the snowball bigger.

Does comfort REALLY matter?

Comfort should be taken in consideration when shopping for shoes. As consumers, we don't want to buy shoes that don't fit or put painful blisters on our feet. Does this mean we should forget all fashion rules and just buy the most comfortable pair of shoes? The answer to that question is NO! So then why do a majority of the population fall in the trend of unflattering comfortable shoes? The UGGS, the CROCS and the SPERRYS? They are by far the most thoughtless, horrendous, ugly BUT comfortable overworn pair of shoes.

  • UGGS- What started out as a great idea for super comfortable cozy shoes has gone overboard with their increasing popularity. As a college student I am reminded everyday by my peers just how unflattering and ugly UGGS really are, as several girls wear them everyday with sweats and Ts. Not only can you not wear them in the snow or rain since they are suede, but they really do not match anything. Maybe an Eskimo outfit. So why do people want to look like Eskimos? I really just don't have a clue!
  • SPERRYS- Originally started out as "boat" shoes, now a staple shoe for many. Not only can you buy the bland brown colors, but they now also come in every color of the rainbow! OK, so relaxing on the boat, or on a pier, maybe even going to the beach, would be a great occasion to wear your SPERRYs, but wearing them everyday to the point to which they are falling apart is not acceptable... Everyday I see the same people wearing the same exact pair of worn out dirty Sperrys with their new Lacoste and Polo shirts, and it just makes me wonder, if you have the money for a Lacoste shirt, then why not go buy yourself a good looking pair of shoes? There are many alternatives to the ugly boat if you are looking for comfort such as Nike, Adidas, New Balance and Reebok, which specialize in comfort.

  • CROCS- Ever since Crocs became popular on the market, they have only reminded me of one thing: Peasants. Growing up in Romania as a little girl I used to always go to the country side in the rural parts of Romania to visit my grandmother's sisters. They were always wearing croc-like shoes while milking the cows, beheading chickens and doing their gardening work. So I always wonder how such a peasant shoe has become one of the best selling shoes? If crocs were around in the past, they would have only been a proletariat's shoe, never worn by aristocrats or the bourgeoise. If you're going to wear a piece of rubber on your feet, then why not try on a matching trash bag as a suit?

So what else can you do besides buying CROCS, SPERRYS, and UGGS if you are looking for comfort? Believe me, they are NOT the only brands of comfortable shoes... Several brands of fashionable yet comfortable shoes are offered by numerous companies. So please, go buy yourself a new pair of shoes :

  3. http://nike.com/

  4. http://www.ecco.com/index.jsp

  5. http://www.birkenstockusa.com/

  6. http://newbalance.com/

  7. http://www.adidas.com/us/homepage.asp

This is MY own personal opinion, my purpose is not to offend anybody, but rather bring light onto the issue of unflattering shoes. If you agree with me, then great; if not, maybe it is time to reconsider. i would personally intentionally put myself through the pain of wearing extremely uncomfortable, blistering pair of high heels than to ever be caught in a pair of Crocs, Sperrys or Uggs...

HiPpIE HiPpiE ShaKe ShAkE

This Fall all Designers can think about is hippie, bohemian, naturalista, and more hippie... With designers such as Gucci having their whole fall lines inspired only by ever-glowing, nature loving hippies, it is hard not to fall in the trend.
Every boho girl must own:
  1. An oversized purse
  2. Too many bangles to be able to count
  3. Funky print tops and bottoms
  4. Tights in every color
  5. Flowy skirts
  6. Leather/woven accessories
  7. The IT boots :)
  8. Hoop earrings

Wearing all at the same time? Yes, it is OK!!! Beware though, adding too many funky prints could make you look as if the sixties threw up on you. Strive for nature inspired prints, like flowers, or even tye-dyes..Makeup should be minimal and hair should be trousled or au-naturale. Look around you, we are all hippies in some way shape or form! :) So start appreciating nature and let it inspire your wardrobe... It can only do wonders! Hey, maybe it is even time you start recycling and start to love this earth you inhabit...

Silky Smooth Hair

We are all born with beautiful strong healthy hair. We just choose to destroy it with too much heat and by using the wrong shampoos and styling products. To achieve the super shiny smooth hair look, you must use the blow dryer very limited... the blow dryer is to the hair what cigarettes are to the lungs... just don't do it. It is better to air dry, and apply leave-in conditioners and balms. At the ends, add serum to prevent the inevitable split ends. Use a wide tooth comb to brush through wet hair, since using a brush pulls your hair out and causes split ends. Once a week it is ideal to do a hot oil treatment and your hair will stay beautiful for as long as you continue this process.

Sexy Geek

If you're like me, then you can't tell the difference between a rock and a dog without your glasses. Contacts have been the best invention of all times for people like me. But when we can't rely on contacts, we are then forced to wear glasses. As a fashionable individual, I never thought wearing thick glasses could ever be sexy or even decent looking. That was until I found the right pair. Finding a pair that suits your face is a hard, but doable job. Not only does a good pair make a huge difference, but attitude and confidence are a must. If you walk around bold and confident, people won't even notice the fact that you are as blind as a bat. Lastly, don't listen to other people's insults (Trust me, I've had plenty)...They're just jealous they cant look as sexy as you in glasses :)

Bye Bye Summer

When cold weather is right around the corner, we have to greatly appreciate the last days of warmth. Fall is here and winter is right around the corner. Bye bye spring flowers... It is time to say goodbye to short skirts, tank tops and our loved flip flops and welcome back our sweaters, jackets, jeans and long forgotten boots. Tis' the season for layering and mix and matching. Align Center

Satin Fever

Satin is a tricky fabric. It will either work and make you look amazing, or it could completely destroy you. Since it is such a shiny fabric, it should only be worn in small portions or for very special occasions, for example, a birthday or anniversary. Having too tight fitting satin will make even the skinniest girl look fat while showing every single imperfection of the body. Having just the right fit shows you are sexy and confident.

Makeup on the Go

There are no ugly girls. Just lazy ones. With today's over saturated market of beauty items, a girl should have no excuse to looking like a mess. Although we don't always have the time for a complete beauty therapy, a quick makeover is always a do.

When on the go, you should consider these few useful tricks:
  1. Use tinted lotion (foundation mixed with lotion) for a quick glide and smooth appearance.
  2. Swipe on some blush. Blush should always be worn since it makes the cheeks look glowy and healthy.
  3. Dust bronze Shadow over entire eye for a bronzed goddess effect, while adding shimmer light Shadow to the crease and the rims of the eyes for a big eyed look.
  4. Gloss those lips! Apply some tinted gloss or lipstick and Voila!!

The best way to get smooth, healthy looking makeup is by using good, clean makeup brushes. If you are like me, then you have too many makeup brushes to count, each one serving a different purpose. If not, it is OK. Makeup brushes don't necessarily have to be expensive. As an artist I paint a lot and while shopping around for painting brushes I found some amazing steals. Michael's wide variety of brushes made me jealous that I had bought makeup brushes for $30 a piece when they carry the same exact brushes for $3! They were even made out of the same fibers, which was great, because makeup companies usually sell cheap brushes made out of plastic bristles which leave the skin looking blotched and uneven, but Michael's brushes were made of natural smooth fibers just like the expensive ones, so go check them out!!! :)

Simplicity

The best fashion advice I've received was from an eighth grade Phys. Ed. teacher. She mentioned that if shopping on a budget, you should try to stick to solids, and non-risque clothing items. Ever since that day I stopped buying funky print outfits which clearly went out of style quick. I started shopping for more basic items that just fit the body right. Looks and current trends should not be the only factor taken in when shopping, but the way the clothes fit should leave no doubt about the purchase. Too tight fitting clothes could make a girl look much bigger than she actually is, while too loose fitting clothes could make a girl look like she is a man with no curves. When wearing a loose top, pair it with a tighter skirt or jeans, or a belt around the waist. When wearing flowy, loose skirts, a fitted top is always the best companion.

Club Wear

When the sun goes down it is only natural that our wilder sides come out. Night/Club wear should be sexy, provocative and even a little flashy. When dressing for night the rules of fashion take a 180 degree turn. Wearing sparkly tops with bold colors is always a do, but over doing it can sometimes lead into a horrible fashion disaster. In club wear, you should always balance out the sexy and the simple. Too much sexy can make you look like you belong on the corner of the streets, and too much simple can make you look as if you were going to work. Wearing too many colors at once can confuse people and even make you look as if you are about to perform at the circus. Stick to 2 or 3 colors, and try to make everything fit into that color scheme. Accessories are a necessity, but know how to accessorize your age.

On this site, I have dedicated myself to let the world know my expert opinions on fashion and style. Everyone should always try to look their best under any given circumstance. I will be posting many helpful topics, such as advice on how to dress, what to wear, what not to wear, makeup tips and health/fitness tips. This site will be beneficial in many ways, maybe even change your way of life! Being a well-dressed stylish individual has given me many opportunities in life which I hope I can pass on to others. My desire is to keep everyone updated with new fashion and beauty news. Now that fall is here, there are several options of dress attire. Style is not just about the clothes you wear. It is an attitude, and a way of life. The colors this fall are natural hues of orange, brown, camel, ivory and greens. Dressing according to the seasons is a major do.
